Kajal made her acting introduction in the 2004 Hindi film Kyun... Ho Gaya Na!, as a minor supporting part as the companion of lead performer Aishwarya Rai. Telugu film Chandamama turned into her first major fruitful film. In 2009 "Magadheera" which was the greatest blockbuster ever in Telugu silver screen, she assumed the part of Yuvarani Mitravinda Devi and Indira (Indu) by which she got to be a standout amongst the most looked for after performing artists in the Telugu film industry.
Her first real film in Tamil was "Pazhani" with performer Bharat, yet her real leap forward in the Tamil business was through Mattran with Surya and Thuppakki with Vijay.
