Sameera Reddy was conceived on December 14, 1982 in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India. She learned at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai and finished a degree from Sydenham College.
Her appearance in artist Pankaj Udhas' "Aur Aahista" music video drove her to be thrown in the 2002 Hindi film Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, denoting her introduction. She has following featured in a few Bollywood movies, for example, Darna Mana Hai, Plan, and Musafir.
In 2005, she made her introduction in Telugu film with Narasimhudu, trailed by Jai Chiranjeeva. She then featured as Meghna in the Tamil film Varanam Aayiram, for which she got a Vijay Award designation for Best Debut Actress.
